Executive Gifts
Executive gifts come in a wide range of varieties and so are the reasons behind the giving of the said gifts. You may decide to gift someone who has recently received promotion at work, a new client that you have gotten, an employee that you want to recognize, or maybe to your boss who has been a significant prop in your career.
Identifying the ultimate gift for this person is an exercise that you do not
want to approach wrongly. No matter what relationship you might be having with
this person, your gift must be one that depicts professionalism.
Protocol
Prior to the actual act of presenting your gift or even purchasing it,
understand what the policies of your company states on the whole subject of
giving and receiving gifts. Some companies will have strict restriction of how
that should be conducted. Sometimes, you will find the amount of the gift being
limited to a certain sum of money.
After looking at the regulations, mull over the relationship and impression
that the gift will create. A gift of congratulation will be different from that
of appreciation or your personal assistant. Expensive gifts will at times be
misinterpreted as currying special treatment with the recipient. Very cheap
gifts will on the other hand do not portray a good image of the intended
appreciation. Moderation of the cost of the gift is ideal. Desist from those
items which are very personal especially for those who report to you.
Philanthropic Donations
Humanitarian donations are fantastic executive
gifts no matter what the relationship is between the giver and the
given. Those causes that the recipient holds dearly are good places to
contribute towards. The best way to approach this is by denoting the name of
the recipient on the gift and then presenting it.
